OBC board met at 6pm, 8/27 at Seth’s house. Attending were: Kevin, Seth, Rusty, Chuck, Bob. A quorum was established. Dick joined us shortly after the meeting began.
The
meeting minutes from 6/11/12 and 3/19/12 were accepted as written.
Financial reports from Kevin and chuck were reviewed , some errors were
noted.
We
received an Orange county tax form with regards to tangible property.
Kevin asked Chuck to contact the county and clarify that we no longer
own such property.
Kevin asked for volunteer to house of delegates meeting at 2pm on Friday Oct 5. None was forthcoming
Kevin asked Secretary Bob to register the chorus for entry in the fall contest, the deadline is Sept 7.
A
motion was approved to compensate members for participation in the fall
contest, fund an afterglow restaurant tab, and contribute $150 to the
district afterglow if requested. Member compensation will be to cover
registration fees, a $50 lodging allowance, and reimbursement for fuel
and toll expenses.
At
the recommendation of music VP Seth, the board agreed to presume contest
qualification for all members who sang in Spring 2012 contest, and to
ask any others to qualify by performing contest songs in a quartet for
chapter leadership at a chapter meeting.
The
board is seeking a volunteer to serve as Volunteer coordinator so that
the chapter may officially provide volunteer support to the mid winter
convention scheduled for January 2013 in Orlando.
Chorus
manager Doug H. is asked to confirm chorus participation at
the November Walk for Autism. Doug is also asked that requests for
quartets be directed only to recognized and practiced quartets..
A
motion was approved to form a search committee to initiate recruitment
and recommend a candidate for a permanent hire of a chorus director.
The search committee shall be comprised of the current board members,
plus Paul Hanover if he is agreeable. The committee is authorized to
seek an interim appointment of a director with compensation of up to $100
per rehearsal.
There was discussion about possible new locations for weekly rehearsals, but no conclusion was reached.
Kevin asked Rusty to investigate youth recruitment and development with UCF.
President Kevin was authorized to pursue disposition of trailer and risers.
