8/19/13 Board meeting

DRAFT
The board met at 6pm, Aug 19th. Present were Lonnie Keck, Charles Ray, Joe Marzal, Rich Mariotti, and Kevin Hunsicker.

The majority of the meeting was to discuss various options/packages to sing at a 2013/2014 Orlando Magic game with guest attendee, Mchael Brunetti. Agreement was reached that the only option OBC would seek, is to sing only the National Anthem. 3 “preferred” games/game dates were selected and submitted, however; Michael pointed out there was no guarantee on any of them.

Once a game would be approved, a decision will need to be made on the package / group pricing which is based on seating section and number of tickets purchased. The 3 games selected were expected to run in the $20 - $25.00 range and while 100 tickets were first noted as part of the package, it was shared that is negotiable. The Magic would require a minimum though of 65-70 tickets.

Bob Reed had sent input that the overdue name tag order has been found by HQ staff and will ship this week. Bob also included a list of 6 members whose current membership is delinquent, including that of our director.  Kevin accepted an action item to review the director contract to see if there was anything in it about the chapter covering that cost.

Kevin indicated he needed additional funds to purchase “legal” music. $500.00 was approved.

Agreement was reached that the chapter would pay each of the participant’s registrations fees for the fall contest here in Orlando.

Agreement was also reach to budget $1,000 for a fall show hospitality room and supplies.

Agreement was reached not to do another guest night prior to the Fall Show. A late Oct date will be considered.

Charles provided a treasurer overview of deposits and expenses 3/1/13 – 7/31/13. He indicated a $5,000 transfer from the account will be needed in the near future.

Action Items:
• Kevin to review director contract on membership dues.
• Orlando Magic will contact us prior to the end of the week with a game / date offer.

Respectfully submitted: Lonnie Keck
